Reynolds Funerals

We chose Reynolds as they were local and family operated and previous reviews were good. Unfortunately our experience doesnt warrant a similar review. My initial contact with Luke (who spoke very nicely and sounded compassionate) was to have our relatives body collected from Aged Care. I was very green, and not an experienced funeral shopper so maybe I expected too much. A representative attended and met my sister and I at the facility. It turned out, the rep. didnt come to collect body at all. We ended up feeling " under the pump" to arrange the funeral there and then while the body was still there. Subsequently, about 4 hours after my initial phone call two of the most bedraggled men ( body transport contractors) finally arrived to collect body. Besides poor or lack of articulation of Reynolds professional services to us, esp points 1,2,3 and 5 on the document headed "A funeral held at a church or alterntive venue."....etc, which we were not shown or given, we felt rushed in our grief. A followup phone call the next day would have been nice after having time to discuss with family members, the nature of the funeral etc.. and what Reynolds could do to assist us. As far as our family is concerned, we arranged the funeral ourselves.

Delighted with Reynolds Funerals. I was interested in a family business when my mother passed away, rather than one of the big names where I suspected the service would be less personal. Upon calling Luke Reynolds, this rang true as he spent a substantial amount of time over the phone, including answering the many questions I had, followed by a detailed email quote which involved him researching our long-forgotten family grave at Springvale. Successive calls were similarly meticulous and respectful, with as much time provided as necessary, but also with care to avoid overwhelming me at any point in the process. The Reynolds family's Catholic background helped to manage arrangements as my mother would have liked and to refresh details of faith that i hadn't delved into since childhood. Luke would continue checking in as needed and to make sure I was doing ok, while liaising with the cemetary and confirming catering arrangements for the wake. Well before the funeral, all details had been organised and it ended up being a stress-free and pleasing event, as much as these can be expected to be. Luke and his father Paul followed through on the day with excellent presentation, a respectful demeanor and discreet communication. Follow up care afterwards continued with final paperwork such as applying for the death certificate. Very much appreciated.
