1. What Funerals Direct is

Funerals Direct is an independent online directory that helps Australian families find and compare funeral directors. We are not a funeral director. We do not handle bodies, arrange services, sell coffins, or take payment for funeral services. All bookings, contracts, and payments are made directly between you and the funeral director you choose.

2. Using the service

The directory is free for families. You may use it to:

• Search for funeral directors by location, service, language, or other criteria
• Read reviews and compare listed information
• Submit quote requests to one or more directors
• Contact us with questions, corrections, or feedback

When you submit information through the site, you confirm it is accurate and that you have authority to share it.

3. Reviews and content

You may submit reviews of funeral directors you have used. Reviews must be truthful, based on personal experience, and free of unlawful or abusive content. We may decline to publish, edit, or remove reviews that breach these standards or applicable law. We may verify reviews through follow-up contact.

Listings on the site reflect publicly available information. Listed directors may also add their own content (services offered, pricing, photos) through our editorial process.

4. Pricing accuracy

Indicative pricing displayed on the site is based on editorial review of publicly listed information at the time of last update. Funeral director pricing varies based on individual circumstances. Always confirm an itemised written quote with the funeral director before committing.

5. Sponsored listings

Some funeral directors pay for featured placement on the directory. These listings are labelled "Sponsored" and explained in our methodology. Sponsorship does not waive our editorial review standards. Our ranking algorithm does not factor in paid placement for organic search results.

6. Intellectual property

Funerals Direct branding, design, code, and editorial content are owned by us or licensed to us. You may not reproduce or republish substantial portions of the site without permission. Reviews you submit remain your work but you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish them on the directory.

7. Disclaimers

We work to keep listings accurate and reviews authentic, but we cannot guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any funeral service. You are responsible for evaluating providers and entering into your own agreements with them. We are not a party to contracts between you and funeral directors.

The site is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties beyond those required by law.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable consumer protection law. Where consumer guarantees apply by law and are not excluded, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funerals Direct is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from your use of the directory or your dealings with a funeral director. Our total liability for any direct loss is limited to AUD $100 or the resupply of the relevant service, whichever is the greater.

10. Termination

We may suspend or close access to anyone who breaches these terms or applicable law. You may stop using the site at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of NSW courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the site. Continued use of the directory after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
