Our story
Funerals Direct was built to solve a problem every Australian family meets at some point. Finding honest information about funeral services when you need it most is harder than it should be. Pricing is opaque, ownership is rarely clear, and ranked-by-payment directories do not help families compare.
We built the directory we wished existed when our own families needed it. A place to compare directors, read reviews from other families, see who owns what, and reach out to a few providers in one go.
We are independent. Our ranking algorithm does not factor in paid placement. Families do not pay anything.
Sponsored listings
Some funeral directors pay for a featured placement on the directory. These listings carry a warm-ivory background, a "Sponsored listings" label above the block, and a link back to this explanation. They are not ranked higher because they pay. Editorial review is the same for sponsored and organic listings.
When you sort by Highest rated, Most reviewed, Distance, or Recently updated, sponsored placement is suppressed. Only the Recommended sort floats sponsored listings to the top.
Families always pay nothing. Quote requests are routed exclusively to the director you click on, regardless of whether their listing is sponsored.
