From the time to death to the final pick up of ashes and documentation, Mackay Funerals were approachable, easily to be contacted, no fuss and held my grieving mum with utter care and respect.
A lady named 'Ma' with her helper Bruce helped remove Dad's body from the house and kept him safely at one of their premises. They were kind, gentle and shared information with us at every step. Ma was respectful in holding Dad with dignity, held mum's emotional vulnerability sensitively and we were lucky for her service on the day of death.
For the actual service, we dealt exclusively with Kathleen with the funeral planning and all contact afterwards. If I was unable to attend, Kathleen understood without fuss or question, and simply invited me to make contact at a better time.
The cost was reasonable, with no up-selling or pressure. Kathleen has a gentle soothing voice that was reassuring and professional. Mum really liked the service we held, and was grateful. Mum even though she was vulnerable and distraught felt safe and comfortable contacting Kathleen if she had a query or a change of circumstance.
