Bethany Funeral Home Albany

I recently attended my Uncle's funeral via streaming. I can't speak for the quality of the service so much as I was not in the room. The MC did a good job I could see. But I can speak for the highly substandard streaming they put on. The streaming of the funeral was unprofessional in many ways. First the sound. I was listening to the service through the microphone on the camera. The camera was at the back of the room. Occasionally trucks on Mercer Rd drowned out what was being said. There was also a lady coughing near the camera which totally deleted what ever words were being spoken at those moments. Also, from the perspective of the camera position, the room ambience was too loud compared with the PA system in there. You could argue "We can't control trucks and coughing". But that is a weak argument. What you do to solve it is take a direct audio feed from the rostrum microphone, and plug it into the camera. Better still, so you can achieve a mix of the ambient room chatter and the people speaking (if the cam does not have this mix feature already) you can buy little audio mixers, mount them on the cam or stand, and mix both signals together - podium mic + room walla. The camera person will need headphones to do this. Second, I noticed the lady doing the camera was running around doing all sorts of other jobs, leaving the cam unattended. This is why we had ONE boring single camera shot only for the whole service until the slide show. The camera work out at the graveyard

Thank you to Vince, Bridgette and Staff at Bethany, they treated Mum's passing with the utmost respect and kindness. The Memorial Service was filled with memories, tears and some laughter in just the right quantities, something I'm sure my Mum would have been pleased with. I can't recommend this Team highly enough.
