Unfortunately, I have to share my negative experience with Alan Drew Funerals. My first experience, in organising my father’s funeral in September 2020, was seamless, easy and professional, hence, our decision to go with them again for my mother’s funeral in April 2022.
For the high cost of the funeral, I got to make most of the arrangements- including booking the church, and the burial! I was told it was normal procedure (untrue!!) and because of the quick turnaround (1week- which was the same as my father’s). I was highly stressed at this time, not only had I lost my mum, but we had flooding, and I was having to relocate due to my daughter performing in a theatre production at the time. I was trying to organise everything ‘on the hop’, and I felt that no care or compassion was given.
To make matters worse, in July 2022, I received a letter from ARMA Group chasing an additional payment, which I had not been aware was due. After chasing this up with Alan Drew funerals, I discovered that the invoice had been sent to my late father’s address! I promptly paid the outstanding amount, even though my experience was far less than satisfactory. I sent an email to Alan Drew Funerals, outlining my grievances in July 2022, to which I still have not received a reply to date.
I would not recommend this company, as this was an incredibly stressful experience, and I feel the exorbitant amount paid for services not carried out is grossly unfair.
