About W Larcombe & Son Funerals
W Larcombe & Son Funerals is a family-run funeral home in Dubbo, NSW, serving generations of Central West families from the same office. As well as funerals, the business arranges monuments and headstones and offers in-house floristry, so most funeral elements can be organised through one point of contact rather than multiple suppliers. May 2025Staff is rude and have no compassion. We decided to use a different funeral home as we were having to chase up for information, staff wouldn’t organise transport of our loved ones body so we could put him to rest. Disgusting they need to close up and get out of this business as it’s a sensitive time for families

Dec 2024A Disappointing and Uncompassionate Experience Dealing with W Larcombe & Sons in Dubbo has been an incredibly frustrating and disheartening experience, especially during such a sensitive and emotional time. After my father passed away in June 2024, I reached out to them for a quote for the supply and installation of a single monument and headstone. I expected professionalism and compassion—qualities that should be second nature to any company dealing with grieving individuals. Unfortunately, they failed on both fronts. If they were too busy to take on the job, the least they could have done was to be upfront about it. Instead, they assured me they would get back to me, a promise that has proven to be nothing but an empty lie. I have been waiting for Barbara Carter, the Managing Director, to follow up since September, and it has become clear that this business does not prioritize its clients or respect their time and needs. This prolonged lack of communication is not just disappointing—it’s deeply disrespectful. It’s obvious they don’t need or value the business. I would not recommend this company to anyone during such a difficult and emotional time.

Dec 2024The woman who served us told us it was her first attempt at organising a funeral. While she tried her best, it was obvious she’d been given no training and was not receiving any meaningful support from other staff or her employers. This added to our stress at the time and we decided not to allow this firm to arrange our service and so we made alternate arrangements.

June 2025Called with an odd request - looking for help with locating my grandmother's grave to see if they have any more info in their archive than what the historical society has (Larcombe & Sons are listed on the burial records). Barbara, who answered, was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken with in customer service in my life, barking repeatedly "I don't know how you think I can help you!" Finished the call as politely as I could, but shaking and in shock. I sincerely hope folks who are in active grief are not spoken to the same way.

Mar 2025I rarely review anything but felt the public needed to know that we had a Very disappointing experience. They Couldn’t be less compassionate or helpful. Not even an ‘lm sorry for your loss’ All very business like and only worried about getting their payment before the funeral. As my family has a strong connection to the Larcombe name I am embarrassed that they are still called Larcombe and Son. I would not recommend them to anyone. Incredibly disappointed - made our time of sadness worse.
