Abbey Funeral Home was started by Warren and Roselind Evans on 29 April 1986 to provide funeral services to Dubbo and the surrounding Central West NSW region. The business was set up on the belief that local services should reflect both understanding of grieving families and a high standard of professionalism. Almost forty years on, the firm still operates from its Dubbo base arranging at-need funerals as well as pre-paid plans. Direct line is (02) 6881 8988.

May 2024Absolutely professionalism and understanding for our family at such a sad time. Tara was instrumental in handling our father’s funeral remotely for us, she made the process from start to finish incredibly easy which was such a relief for us. All logistics and paperwork were handled by her with such kindness, she was so helpful. Julie and team were wonderful on the day of the funeral. I cannot recommend Abbey staff enough, they took all the stress and worry away from us at such an emotional time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts - the Trimboli family.

Jan 2025If zero stars, I would rate that for this place. Couldn’t run a bath or grow ivy up a wall. Didn’t get the hymn I wanted, not enough chairs for elderly or disabled. Not enough order of service printed. Barely any response from the owner. I was promised via email from the owner that the obituary books would be available to sign by guests on the day, this did not happen. I just got handed an Empty book in a box. Service disjointed, no flow. Abbey rudely changed the time from 11am to 10.30am, making it difficult for travellers. When visiting the grave site the next day, they didn’t even have my son James’ birth date on the cross. Not once was I consulted about this or anything else, considering it was my eldest Son 23.. I’ll have to go back with a texta and write it on myself. I’ve never seen a cross above a grave without a date of birth. Did not get any responses to my emails.

Aug 2024If I could give less than 1 star I would. One bumbling mistake after another. Ashes put in wrong sort of container, given another person's death certificate, couldn't locate my dad's personal belongings, they now believe that they 'might' have been cremated with him. And the whole time I am the one who has had to continuously follow up with them to find out details. And all I got was 'oh sorry'.

Apr 2025My mother was told on the 14th of feb, to call back 2 weeks if nothing has happened with the headstone vases, ITS BEEN 2 MONTHS! and a death anniversary, this comming monday will be another! UNACCEPTABLE.
