Dec 2025I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Russell Brothers Funeral. As I am currently in France, I relied entirely on the livestream to attend the ceremony. However, the link on their website simply did not work. Despite trying repeatedly, I was unable to access the service at all. When I called for assistance, the only response I received was that I could “re-watch it for the next two weeks.” This completely missed the point. I wanted to attend live, to be present in the moment, and to honour my loved one alongside everyone else. Being told to watch a replay felt dismissive and frankly unacceptable under such sensitive circumstances. For a funeral service, where people depend on technology to feel connected from abroad, this is a serious failure. Families deserve better—especially at a time of grief.

May 2020Gary was amazing. I had never arranged a funeral before but, within 4 days of contacting Gary at Russell Brothers (on a public holiday in March 2020), we had the most perfect funeral for my big brother Paul who died unexpectedly at the young age of 63. It was all arranged by phone and email because I live in Sydney but it couldn't have been better or easier or better value. Total cost was less than $7000 for everything including a beautiful service at Bunurong, lovely flowers (huge!), our chosen music, a slide show of Paul's life, video recording of the service (with a copy provided on a USB memory stick), a printed order of service and more. Gary made it perfect in every way. Highly recommended.

Gary instantly made us feel he was going to help us create a wonderful funeral for our dear Dad. Gary and Geoff were wonderful to deal with and they were willing to cater to our every need and took on as many tasks necessary to ease our load. (The quoted price was extremely competitive given the cost of funerals) The communication was constant and consistent so that we knew we were in good hands the whole way through.
