Sept 2025Dear Mindy, Moana and team at WD Rose Cheltenham. Thank you for your incredible support to help create a wonderful tribute for my mum Lynette last Thursday. From the moment I walked into the fully renovated chapel area and the helpful funeral staff, I knew it was the best place to farewell my mum in style. The Chapel is bright and perfect with live streaming provided as part of the service (my clever neice prepared the photo tribute and order of service brochures) but they do have people who can provide this service) plus honest recommendations for catering for an unknown crowd quantity. The celebrant Bill Stubbs is the best. I dropped in some tribute items the day before the funeral, including dresses on mannequins for them to put on display and not only did they do that, they had displayed some extras beautifully even in frames! The catering company did a lovely morning tea after the service. Mum was buried after morning tea so off we went after refreshments, following the hearse and that was also organised beautifully at Cheltenham Cemetary. Thank you. Can’t recommend you all enough. It must take some strength to work in this industry. Thank you and extra thanks to Mindy and Moana. Amanda t. 😘

May 2024Moana Ewins and the entire team were so helpful, accommodating and available. They assisted us in keeping costs down while still providing a funeral my Mum would have loved. The video tribute, order of service and bookmarks were expertly created by Belinda Jane Video who were receptive to feedback and provided clear timelines. David Gouldson was our celebrant who took the time to find out about our Mum and wrote an honest and loving service reflecting who she was. David was amazing providing both a religious element my Mum would have appreciated but also sang beautifully. Everyone at W.D Rose Funerals that we dealt with were easy to deal with, clear on payment terms, flexible, transparent, helpful, caring, kind, and made what could have been a traumatic experience so much easier. The service was streamed for free and we have a recording that we can watch & share with family & friends who were unable to make it. Dad and I plan to prepaid his funeral with W.D. Rose in the near future. I'd like to again thank Moana who was so supportive throughout the whole experience and on the day, and who smiled and laughed at our dancing at the grave site to one of Mum's favourite songs. Moana helped make the experience a memorable one. Thanks also to Karen and the teams at Brighton and Cheltenham including the gorgeous black Labrador dog at Brighton.

July 2024WD Rose is not recommended if there is any family conflict. Mum's funeral was very sterile. I contacted them beforehand to ensure that she was not cremated, pursuant to her wishes. Her eulogy was read by Mike Larkin. There was no mention of my care given to her, nor of her only overseas holiday, with me and provided by me. I contacted my siblings and WD Rose directly to give this information. I also gave messages from family and friends. These were not read out. It felt very rushed and sterile. There were many flowers, although mum requested no flowers.

Aug 2024Since the manager of Brighton has taken over the direct oversight of WD Rose Cheltenham, things have progressively gone down. This could be contributed to the recent takeover of InvoCare by TPG Capital. The old manager and staff at WD Cheltenham used to be wonderful, delightful and a truly positive reflection on InvoCare before the recent takeover. I previously would have recommended WD Rose Cheltenham to anyone, given the opportunity for them to meet with the old manager and arrangers there, but not now. Such a shame that an Iconic brand has been placed under the direct supervision of an incompetent leadership at a neighboring WD Rose Branch.

Sept 2013I have been trying to find an Email address to ask about my problem privately but I cannot so - here it goes, publicly - I attended a funeral on Wednesday (yesterday) at your Cheltenham address - which was very nice but.....having spent $100 for flowers - which I know were delivered at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral - I would like to know where they were! If the family had requested No Flowers (I obviously didn't know that) what the heck happened to $100 worth of flowers and why were we not contacted to perhaps collect them? Not happy Jan
