Dec 2025When my husband Dale and father to our five children passed away suddenly we were all numb with shock and heartbroken. Relatives of my late husband began making funeral arrangements without consulting us. We were in deep grief and vulnerable My girlfriend recommended I contacted Shanti at Sensible Funerals. Shanti and Tim had overseen my girlfriends young son’s memorial after his sudden passing. Every special detail was thoughtfully and carefully realised. It was a beautiful service honouring his life. Shanti was a friend from when our children were at school together. I contacted her at my friend’s urging and knew immediately I had made the right decision. We had four days to prepare as the relatives pulled out and left the arrangements and finances to myself and five young children. We kept the same day we had all originally planned as many family members and friends had booked to fly in. Am not sure how many could have taken on what Shanti and Tim did. They were calm beyond measure, attended to every specific detail with care and compassion and mediated on our behalf with relatives of my husbands. The team at Sensible Funerals were so kind and supportive. Shanti and Tim were effortless in their communication, attention to detail and within such a small time frame (four days) pulled together a beautiful service honouring my husband of 25 years and father to our children with respect, empathy and seamless calm. July 2021Our Mum Yvonne was buried in April at Enfield Cemetery, with the service provided by Shanty Russell and her team. We found their ceremony, their help with planning and their care and consideration of us and our loved one and the extended family to be exemplary. We would also like to give a huge thank you and much praise to Shantys daughter, who is Sensible Funerals mortician. We were very nervous about having to do the identification pre-burial and decided to do this the day before. We were so happy and felt such heartfelt peace after seeing our Mum looking so beautiful and at peace after her last laboured days, it made us feel so relieved and happy that we could say our final goodbyes without any regrets. Thank you Shanty and all your wonderful team at Sensible Funerals, we could not have asked for a lovelier farewell for our Mum and we will certainly be using your services again, and we highly recommend your services to others.
