My mother’s funeral was held at Finlayson & McKenzie on 12 March 2025 at 1pm QLD time. As most of her family were interstate and relying on the livestream, we were concerned when we noticed the online schedule displayed a different time. After contacting the funeral home the morning of the service to flag the issue, we were told it couldn’t be fixed. Despite this, the funeral proceeded at 1pm as originally planned, meaning anyone who followed the incorrect time would have missed it entirely. The livestream itself was poorly managed. The video started in portrait mode instead of landscape, making it difficult to view. When we called to report this, the stream was disconnected. By the time it was restored—at least 10 minutes into the service—the orientation was corrected but the quality remained abysmal. The video repeatedly dropped out, glitched, and could only be viewed at a low resolution, making details impossible to see. The audio was also difficult to distinguish, adding to the frustration of trying to follow such an important event remotely. This was a deeply upsetting experience. A funeral is a final tribute to a loved one, and families should not have to deal with such careless technical issues, especially after raising concerns in advance. The handling of this service was disrespectful and completely inadequate. I would strongly advise others to seek a more professional and reliable provider—especially if remote attendance is required.
