From the moment out parents were tragically taken away from us we felt the pressure to use W.T. Dennis & Sons for our parents' funeral arrangements, a choice we will have to live with for the rest of our lives.
When we were first in contact with the coroner’s office following the accident, they offered us the option to travel to Sydney to view our parents. We chose to decline this offer based on the assurance given by W.T. Dennis & Sons (Andrew) that we would be able to view our mother at their facility. However, when our parents arrived, we were informed that viewing our mother was not possible due to the extent of her injuries. This was devastating, especially since we had been promised otherwise. The lack of transparency and failure to deliver on their promises left us feeling misled and disrespected during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
Even when we requested to simply see our mother’s face, the answer was a firm “no,” with no attempt to offer any alternative or explanation.
On the day of the funeral, we noticed several problems with the service. No staff members were present at the front to hand out order of services or manage guest sign-ins. For a two-person funeral, they only had three staff members, whereas other funeral directors would have had at least six for a similar event. This made everything feel unorganized and understaffed.
