Part of the Tender Funerals network established in 2016, Australia's first franchised non-profit funeral service, the organisation empowers families to participate in funeral planning while maintaining financial accessibility through its benevolent fund. Tender Funerals were professional, compassionate and professional from the first phone call, meeting at Clare Holland House, also in their beautiful offices in Fairbairn (near the airport) and on the day. Every one we spoke to had the same high level of professionalism and care and mum's funeral went off without a hitch. We went with them for their ethos but the price was a lovely surprise too. At no point did it feel like a transaction and as they are not for profit we didn't feel like we were being ripped off at all. A HUGE 5 STARS FROM ME!!!

July 2025Compassionate, professional and affordable funerals care. We recently used Tender Funerals, a new community-based not-for-profit funeral director in Canberra. We are so glad we did. The Tender team were much more compassionate and family-centred than the other better-known company we sought a quote from. Tender also came and met us at Clare Holland House to provide a quote and talk through their offering. It was immediately obvious they were the right fit for us. Once Mum passed, they were swift and professional with nothing being too difficult or obvious to explain as first time organisers. The funeral was perfectly run, with Tender working in advance with Mum’s Church to seamlessly organise all the specifics. Tender’s communication and responsiveness was very impressive. While only new in Canberra since 2024, they have recruited a skilled team of passionate and dedicated funeral directors, achieving an affordable and values-based offering for families which aligned with our late-Mum’s wishes. We can’t recommend them enough, Tender Funerals were just wonderful. They were also significantly more affordable and compassionate than the popular, for-profit provider we consulted with.
